Pittsburgh airport traffic up 2 percent in AugustJust Plane News 2011-10-15 01:50:01Passenger traffic rose 2.2 percent in August at Pittsburgh International Airport compared to a year ago. There were 767,792 enplanements during the month compared to 751,393 in August 2010, the Allegheny County Airport Authority said Friday. Year-to-date traffic is up 3.6 percent. US Airways was the top airline at the airport for the month with 181,497 passengers, which was down 2.8 percent compared to August 2010. Delta Air Lines came in second place with 147,282 passengers, which was up 10.6 percent from a year ago. Southwest Airlines had the third-highest totals with 134,965 passengers, essentially flat. Other airlines registering increases were American Airlines, Continental, Myrtle Beach Direct Air, Air Canada and USA 3000 . Joining US Airways with decreases were United, AirTran Airways, JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU), Frontier and Skywest. Full Story » |
