Alaska Air adds Kansas City to its route map

Alaska Airlines today announced another city in its growing east-of-the-Rockies routes. The SeaTac-based airline will begin flying from Sea-Tac Airport to Kansas City beginning March 12 next year. Alaska is taking advantage of Southwest Airline's wintertime sabbatical from the route. Southwest will end its non-stop service to Kansas City in January but resume it in May. The other competitor on the route, Frontier Airlines, recently has been shaking up its route structure in an effort to find higher yields.
